My initial excitement with the Kershaw Rake diminished when I carried it. For it's heavy weight and tiny sized handle, I will carry many other knives before the Rake. However all is not lost on this design and it might depend on it fits you personally. The Rake possesses some notable features like the 14C28N/CPM-D2 composite steel in the nicely shaped blade. It also arrives wicked sharp and should hold an edge well. Other upsides include a fast deploying flipper design, US production, solid lockup, and at least an attempt at jimping on the top (and this Nutnfancy version has a cool double stamped logo...for sale soon on www.bigcartel.com/nutnfancy). But for me the tiny handle and its 5.4 oz carry weight sinks the Rake for me and I do not like it for that. Especially at the price tag. Several other competitive options are shown and preferred to include its stablemate, the intimidating and fast deploying Kershaw 1790 Tremor, even in its 8Cr13Mov steel. The Tremor is IS heavier but it has a much bigger blade and huge handle that enables function in tactical POUs, something the Rake might fall short on if you have larger hands.
